G-ROUGH, PASQUINO SQUARE, PARIONE DISTRICT
G-roughs doors open up to the famous sculpture of Pasquino, the most famous “talking” statue of Rome. Placed in a corner of Palazzo Braschi, on which it is a centuries-old tradition to affix the so-called “pasquinate” satire in verse anonymously directed to the most important and powerful figures of the city and the country.
Characteristic feature of the neighborhood like the Parione, which encloses its pulsating heart, Piazza Navona, and Campo dei Fiori, Corso Rinascimento and Via del Pellegrino, find themselves in the maze of streets that wind around Via del Governo Vecchio. You can find small shops, antique dealers, galleries, restaurants, cafés and meeting points for the young artists and creatives of the capital.
For the redevelopment of the square, G-rough in partnership with Society, the Limonta brand of Italian quality linens, have realized a project – “Park-Scenic”: a way to reconquer a degraded public space and to give a new voice to Pasquino as well as a new expression to the pasquinades through the organization of cultural and artistic events.
